For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jer 29:11)

Eye shadow
In the nursery at church on Sunday Kayla decided to give herself eye shadow with markers. I was shocked when I saw her face and even more surprised when I found that she had put the maker only on her eyelids. Notice the blue color for one eye and the purple for the other.
Here she is today with the color almost gone.

Questions
What happens when I poke my sister?
How loudly can I scream?
What does poop really taste like?
These are the kind of real life questions not simply asked, but acted upon daily in the Gilchrist home. Along with each of these questions there follows an exuberant 'lets try it and find out'.
What is a toilet plunger for?
How far can I throw my lunch across the table?
What happens when I take my diaper off during nap time?
How hard can it be to eat rocks?
I wonder what Mommy will say when I empty half of the bath water onto the bathroom floor?
The fish still look hungry, should I just dump in half the can?
What will it feel like to smash mud or dirt into my hair... how about my sister's?
Can boogers stick to the wall?
We are a family who asks the hard questions and are not afraid of the answer. We love to try new things and figure out even the most dizzying concepts. I hope that in your family you also can enjoy the rush that comes from learning.

Bryant's new hobby
Bryant has a passionate interest in painting. He and I have been painting a mural on his wall over the past year, but up until recently he has only been using water on his paintbrush. Now he has his own set of paints and will spend hours painting pictures on paper. I love to see the kids' creative sides coming out and I cannot wait to have a companion in wall painting eventually. By the way, the paper picture with my name on it is actually a piece of Gary's rather unusual art. A picture of part of Bryant's wall is below, we have had lots of fun working on it.
