For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jer 29:11)

Kayla's room

I put this tree up in Kayla's room last week and wanted to post a picture.  The wooden doll was made by my grandfather and decorated by my grandmother.  They sent the doll for me when they heard I was working on Kayla's room last year.  It has taken me a while, but I have it up and Kayla is very happy with the outcome.  My grandmother is in the hospital right now and it felt good to finish something they would have pleased them.

Tennessee trip

We just got home from an amazing trip to see Gary's family in Tennessee!  The cousins had so much fun together, it was really tough to leave.  The kids are already planning our next vacation to Tennessee. The drive was very long, 1400 miles each way.  The kids were troopers.  I love the picture of Blake below because it sums up how he felt about being the van so long - bored and fussy.

Egg launcher

Gary had a bring your child to work day a couple weeks ago and Bryant was old enough to take part.  One of the prearranged activities they do on this special day each year is have an egg launching contest.  Whichever egg is unbroken, launches the furthest, and looks/sounds coolest will win (apparently some of these engineering fathers add sound effects and lights to the launcher).  There is a long list of requirements that must be followed or your egg will be disqualified (you cannot hard boil your egg).  Here is a picture of Bryant with the launcher he and Gary made.  They did not win the contest, but their egg did not break when launched.
